GMARC February 2005 meeting minutes

 

Meeting opened @ 7:05PM on Feb. 15, 2005.

Motion made by Rich K8OX and seconded by Val N8OEF. Vote carried.

 

Minutes were accepted.

Motion made by Joe N8OZ and seconded by Scott W1BIC. Vote carried.

 

Treasurer's Report was presented by T.J. N8RUH. T.J. stated that the club bank balance as of last month was $1559, and that this month's current bank balance is $1699.

 

OLD BUSINESS

Discussion of GM icon for club purposes.

 an unofficial permission was given until instructed to cease.

 

Introductions of club members callsigns and names were made.

 

Brief mention of information given last meeting of Spectrasite and Hines Mgmt. doing inventory and ownership of property @ RenCen.

 

Mike N5WCS & George K8GEO gave the club activities report on local ham radio information topics.

Discussion of upcoming club meeting presentation by Paul AA8OZ on mobile antenna installations. Val N8OEF made motion to seek Paul's willingness to demonstate for our club at an upcoming meeting. Motion seconded by Mike N5WCS. Vote carried.

 

Discussion of club activity demonstrating amateur radio for local neighborhood children. ie: setting up radio stations to illustrate amateur radio during the summer so people can experience the hobby and it's many facets in the hopes of acquiring members and for public awareness. Discussion tabled; more details to be discovered. Dave WD8IFL will do preliminary investigation on details.

Discussion on ARRL membership renewals to benefit clubs'.

Scott W1BIC volunteered as GMARC ARRL club liasion. He also mentioned that ARRL club information is current on ARRL website.

 

Jim N8DMW made motion to adjourn the meeting @ 8:20PM. Leo KW8J seconded motion. Vote carried.
