GMARC MEETING MINUTES FOR JUNE 2005

Bobby N8CY called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.  16 members were in attendance.  There are currently 52 dues-paid members of our club.

Minutes from the May 2005 meeting were not available – therefore approval of those minutes was deferred.

Treasurer’s report: The GMARC currently has $1745.45 for the bank balance.  A new antenna was purchased for the 2-meter repeater since the last report.

Jeff N8XN reported that he, Chuck N8ZA, and Brad N8VI made adjustments to the 2-meter repeater.  Jeff suggested that the 2-meter duplexers had incurred a lightning strike and should be replaced – approximate cost $900.  No action was taken.

George K8GEO made the inter-club ham radio activities presentation. For more details see: http://www.gmarc.org/Upcoming%20HamEvents.htm .  The following activites were highlighted:

          MS150 Bike Ride – July 16-17, 2005
          Michigander Bike Ride (300 miles) – July 21, 2005
          Woodward Dream Cruise – August 20, 2005 – Jim N8DHZ is organizing 
          Diabetes Walk at Stony Creek – September 24, 2005.  This is a GMARC
            sponsored event and volunteers are needed.

Field Day 2005 will be the weekend of June 25-26.  Local clubs that will be sponsoring a field day event at USECA, L’Anse Creuse, SHARC, and Hazel Park .

Dave W8RIT was not available to give a report on the Newsletter, but a late Summer edition is anticipated.  The GMARC Newsletter has been very well received.

New Business:  The annual GMARC Picnic will be Saturday, August 27, 2005 10:00 AM at Stony Creek West Branch Picnic Area Lot G.  A map and details are on the website at www.gmarc.org/Picnic.htm

There will be no meetings in July and August.  The next meeting will be Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 7:00 PM.
