GMARC September 2005 meeting minutes
 
Meeting opened @ 7:09PM on Sept. 20, 2005 by N8CY, Bobby Corr.
Bobby Corr introduces guest speaker: Val Rose N8EXV from ARRL.
 
Introductions of club members were made.

June meeting minutes are on website courtesy of N8CY/N8ZY. Motion made to accept minutes by Scott W1BIC and seconded by Chuck N8ZA. Minutes were accepted. Motion passed; Vote carried.

 
Treasurer's Report was presented by Bobby N8CY. Bobby stated that the club bank balance as of the June meeting was $1745.93, and that a deposit of $18 was made so the current bank balance of 9/20/05 is: $1763.93.

Tech Committee report: a little noise is present on the 440 repeater and is being investigated. Discussion by club members to upgrade 2M equipment. Tech committee will meet and discuss recommendations to bring information forward to club members.

Diabetes Walk- Leo KW8J made mention of information regarding Diabetes Walk and need for volunteers. Bobby N8CY is contact for event, and more information can be found in newsletter.

ARRL report: no report of new information.

Newsletter: Dave W8RIT asked for articles. Newsletter was sent to club members via e-mail by Scott W1BIC. Scott W1BIC will upgrade e-mail addresses for any club members that were inadvertently missed.

Discussion of no-code testing proposal brought up by Bobby Corr, N8CY. Bobby presented facts & statistics on no-code proposal from an article found on the internet.

NEW BUSINESS

Leo KW8J informed club members of Clinton Twp. antenna ordinance and PRB-1. Discussion of details by club members. More information can be found in the newsletter.
 
Discussion of return of club to emergency communications goal. Bob KZ8N informed club members of upcoming SET. Scott W1BIC made a suggestion that club members monthly check into the GM Info Net on battery power only. Discussion on emergency/hurricane relief communications.
 
George K8GEO gave the club activities report on local ham radio information topics.

Presentation by Val Rose, N8EXV, the Ass't Great Lakes Division Director on the Spectrum Preservation Act and BPL Protection in the US Congress. Discussion after presentation w/ Q&A session.

Val N8OEF made motion to adjourn the meeting @ 9:22PM. Brad N8VI seconded motion. Vote carried.
