III.  Treasurer’s report by TJ, N8RUH

            Four checks cleared, and two deposits.  Bank Balance is $2,123.20.

 

Motioned to accept Treasurer’s Report  by Chuck, N8ZA.

Seconded by George, K8GEO.  Passed.

 

IV.  Minutes of Previous Meeting

 

Motion to approve January, 2006 minutes by Mike, N5WCS.

Seconded by Rich, K8OX.  Passed.

 

V.  Upcoming HAM Events given by George, K8GEO

            a) March 21st, SKYWARN class in Southfield

            b) March 18th, Crossroads HamFest – Marshall, MI

            c) April 8th, Milford Swap – Milford, MI

VI.  Business

 

A)  Hugh, KE6YRC brought a large box of AA batteries for everyone who attended to take what they needed.

 

B)  Bobby, N8CY, motions the club to pay for the Website URL ten years in advance.  He also suggests that the Website URL be registered in the Club’s name.

 

Seconded by Jeff, N8YIO.  Passed.

 

C)  Scott suggests to “table” important motions for a month so more members can have knowledge of important issues and vote at the next meeting.

 

D)  Motion to accept this suggestion by Blake, KC8PQA.  Passed.

 

E)  Bobby, N8CY motions to induct Nancy J. Polis (Corporate Secretary of GM) as an Honorary Member. 

 

Seconded by Rich, K8OX .  

 

Mike, N5WCS motions to table this motion.  Seconded by Geroge, K8GEO.  Passed

Vote to induct Nancy Polis as an Honorary Member deferred to March, 2006 meeting.

 

F)  Motion to reimburse Dina, N8YJI for the “goodies” consumed at each meeting by giving her free membership for one year.

G)  Dave, W8RIT needs help with the Club Newsletter. 

 

H)  Jeff, N8XN, brought the club’s attention to a 1.2 GHz repeater offered to GMARC by John, K8OCL.  The Tech Committee will analyze the offer and make a recommendation at the March, 2006 meeting.

 

Motioned to table by Mike, N5WCS.  Seconded by Leo, KW8J.  Passed.

Vote to act on Tech Committee’s recommendation deferred to March, 2006 meeting.

VIII.  President’s Comments

 

Thanks to everyone for checking in to the Monday Night 8 PM WW8GM InfoNet.  We should try to get 25 people to join in.

 

Thanks to Bob, N8ZY for being the Webmaster for the past few years.  The new Webmaster is Bobby, N8CY, and the Web Site has been refreshed and updated.  Any comments for improvement should be forwarded to Bobby, N8CY (webmaster@gmarc.org) .

 

Thanks to Mike, N5WCS for running a 50-minute Monday Night WW8GM InfoNet last week!

X.  Program

Brad, N8VI gave a presentation with the projector, computer, and HT on Amateur Radio Digital Modes, packet, and more.  Brad displayed “watermarks” on computer screen while receiving transmissions.  The club was introduced to various different sounds of different modes.  A complete list of Software and Web Sites demonstrated will be included in the March 2006 Newsletter.
