GMARC MEETING MINUTES 20-APR-10
I. Call to Order by the President, Kurt WU8V at 7:15 PM.
II. Introductions, Upgrades, and Visitors
There was one visitors Tom KD8GZE.
III. Minutes
Minutes of the 16-Mar-10 meeting were available on the web site and copies at the meeting. Motion to approve minutes by Don K7SDF and seconded by Tony W8OKX. Motion carried.
IV. Treasurer’s Report

We have 20 members who have paid their 2010 dues.
VI. Tech Committee + Nets + ARRL Liaison
The officers met on 8-Mar-10 and identified a new very robust antenna for the 2m repeater manufactured by Comsat. The list price is $725 available from Bruce Reinhardt for $550. The current plan is to reinstall the 2m repeater at the RenCen.
VII. Old Business
· Trunk Swap dates will be May 22, and July 12 + a date in Sept TBD
VIII. New Business
· Field day coming up the last weekend in June.
· Club is ready to buy the antenna, planning on 2 teams of 3 people are planned to work at the Ren Cen installing the antenna and working in the radio room. The following volunteered to go: Bob KA8VSI, Jeff K8LFE, Ben WB9FJO, and Rich KC8HMJ

X. Inter Club Liaison Report – Jim K8LFE
· USECA is having a pre field day radio-a-thon @ Metro Beach, jet ski area on June 6th.
· USECA is planning trunk swaps on July 25 and Aug 22 at the Elks Lodge in Mt. Clemens
· Oakland County SKYWARN classes will be held at Executive Building on Pontiac Lake Rd. Pre-registration required by calling 248.858.5300. Volunteers also needed for Woodward Dream Cruise. Om August.
XI. Program
The program was the Homebrew Show and Tell. Entries were brought by 5 members. Kurt WU8V brought tweezer like probes he built for his M3 meter that can be used to pick up an SMT component and measure it at the same time. Jim K8LFE brought pliers with the teeth ground down so as to conduct heat away from PL-259s during installation. Ben WB9FJO brought in a tri-fold board with GMARC info, and repeater coverage to take to swaps and events to represent the club. Bob KA8VSI brought in his “Bare Essentials Transmitter”, a no transformer, 50C5 tube transmitter, and demoed how he made and glued Manhatten pads to pcb. Ed KC8SBV brought in a regen radio built into a wood box, with veriner tuning, and throttle capacitor regen control. Ed took home the “GMARC Grand Tinker Award” trophy.

11 Members attended, and there was 1 Visitors.
